One Year After Sandy

One year ago this week the Allenhurst Beach Club and all of New Jersey experienced the most devastating storm in decades.

Hurricane Sandy destroyed the Cabanas, Snack Bar, Restaurant, and damaged many other areas within the Club, however; it could not keep us from rebuilding.  Impressively, the Club opened only a few weeks late with new cabanas, pool pumps, restrooms, and a temporary kitchen.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Allenhurst Beach Club this past year, we are Stronger than the Storm!

Rebuilding the Cabanas

The cabanas are here at last! They are in the same order as they were in previous years, and they look better than ever! Starting this year, all members renting cabanas will be required to sign a lease agreement. Check your mailboxes, as information regarding the cabana leases will be delivered soon.

Goodbye Mr. C’s

Super Storm Sandy took a serious toll on the Allenhurst Beach Club Restaurant. The damage was so severe that the Borough decided to demolish the Mr. C’s building and start from scratch. While the restaurant will not be open for the season, Mr. C’s will be providing light refreshments and a bar to ABC members.

Race of Gentlemen

Did you miss the the First Annual Oiler’s Car Club Race of Gentlemen? On October 20th, the Allenhurst Beach Club hosted dozens of pre-war automobiles and antique motorcycles in a drag race along the shore line. Check out this video directed by Oz BODYCON.

These photos were taken in 2009 and 2010. They show the renovations that took place to install a new umbrella deck on the beach, replace the north and south deck with more durable wood, as well as the old cabanas which recently has new doors installed. Captions below show specific dates and descriptions.

Snow Day!

Snow from January 25, 2013 covers the beach. Work has started on the beach to expose the old cabana foundation pilings. Employee, Stephen Rogers, has experimented with his new fish-eye lens.
