Position: Beach Club Assistant Manager
Location: Allenhurst Beach Club
Reports to: Borough Administrator
Job Overview
The Beach Club Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing all operations at the Allenhurst Beach Club, which services approximately 2,900 members and manages 125 seasonal staff. The Assistant Manager will assist in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, enforcing club policies, coordinating staff, and facilitating an enjoyable experience for members. This position is seasonal, from Memorial Day to the weekend after Labor Day, with a work schedule of 9 AM to 7:30 PM, including mandatory weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Staff Management
- Assist with training all Beach Club staff.
- Assist with supervision and management of the performance of 125+ staff members.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of staff schedule, ensuring coverage for all shifts.
- In absence of the Manager, coordinate staff days off, ensuring coverage while adhering to the availability of the team.
- Assist in Operations and Facility Management
- Assist with overseeing the maintenance of the Beach Club, including the beach, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Assist with the coordination of trash collection and ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Manage guest relations by responding to member inquiries and concerns.
- Supervise the sale of guests and daily passes.
- Ensure the enforcement of Beach Club rules and regulations.
- Identify and document maintenance issues, communicating with the maintenance staff or DPW for resolution.
- Assist in Safety and Compliance
- Assist with training staff on Beach Club policies, safety practices, and emergency procedures.
- Document incidents or accidents, ensuring proper reporting to the Borough Administrator and relevant authorities (Police, EMS, etc.).
- Assist with the coordination and overseeing of Beach Club events and activities, ensuring all safety standards are followed.
- Assist in Administrative Duties
- Learn payroll and daily closing out procedures.
- Assist in Event and Activity Coordination
- Assist with organizing and overseeing the Beach Club events and activities to enhance member experience.
- Promote community engagement through organized events while ensuring they align with Beach Club policies and safety regulations.
Qualifications
• Strong leadership and staff management experience.
• Excellent organizational, budgeting, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of beach club operations, safety standards, and facilities management.
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, during the summer season.
• First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation
• Seasonal, Memorial Day through Labor Day, 9 AM – 7:30 PM.
• Mandatory work on weekends and holidays.
• 2 Days off during the week: Monday to Thursday, scheduled in coordination with the Beach Club Manager.
